The IIT Council is releasing JEE Advanced result 2016 today along with the list of candidates enlisted in common rank list.
The result of JEE Advanced 2016 is getting declared today on 12 June. JEE Advanced result and rank list will be displayed online at www.jeeadv.ac.in in the morning at 10 am. Those 1.6 lakh aspirants who write the exam will be able to check their score and rank today after the declaration.
Category-wise All India Ranks (AIR) of successful candidates will be available on the online portal after result is announced today on Sunday. Individual rank cards will not be sent to the candidates and admission process will commence after the publication of results, which will be notified soon.
A total of 1,98,228 candidates had qualified for the JEE Advanced examination but only around 1.6 lakh registered for it and took the test held on 22nd May. Test venues were organized in 114 cities of the country as exam was taken in two shifts between 9 am to 12 pm for paper I and between 2 pm to 5 pm for paper II.
The result will contain the score card of candidates, displaying marks they obtained in the exam and ranks achieved by them. The rank list is prepared on the basis of aggregate marks scored by candidates in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. A candidate need to score a minimum percentage of marks in each subject and then aggregate to get included in the common merit list.
The detailed process of rank list is provided here in previous article about tie-break policy and the process of rank list preparation. The ranks will be alloted to candidates taking their marks and reservation rules into consideration.
The cut off for this year’s merit is expected to be around 100 marks, nearly 5 marks down from last year.
IIT Guwahati, the organizing institute of JEE Advanced-2016 be heading the counselling process for admission into IITs.
The score cards/rank cards would not be dispacted to any candidates and they have to download it from official site only. The printed copy of result will be considered valid for attending counselling and completing admission formalities.
However, only the candidates who will get marks according to the cut off set, will be eligible for counselling. Apart from that, it’s also required for candidates of unreserved category to have obtained at least 75% marks in board exams. Same for reserved categories is at 70%.
To check JEE Advanced 2016 results, candidates will be required to visit www.jeeadv.ac.in and login with their registration details. Keep track of the official site to get results as soon as declared online.
