The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has announced the complete time table of upcoming board examination for Indian School Certificate (ISC) Class 12 and Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Class 10 students. Class 10 and Class 12 students pull up your socks and start your revisions to take the ISCE board exam from next month onwards. Now as the ICSE & ISC Board time table 2018 has been officially released, schedule your final phase of studies. Moreover from this year onwards, the pass mark criteria for the ICSE & ISC Examinations has undergone change.
As per the latest notification issued by the Council on January 10, for the ICSE, the pass marks would be 33% instead of the present 35% and for the ISC examination, the pass marks would be 35% instead of the present 40%. The change in passing marks for the ICSE & ISC examinations will be effective from this year itself and not from the examination to be held in the year 2019.
The date sheet prepared by the CISCE has been uploaded on the Board’s official website today on January 10. The council has announced the complete schedule for Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination and Indian School Certificate Examination for the academic session 2017-18. However, the dates mentioned in the Time Table for the ISC year 2018 examination may be subject to change based on the declaration of the dates by the Chief Election Commissioner of India for the states due for Assembly elections.
Likewise each year, ICSE (Class 10) examinations will be conducted in the morning from 11 am to 1 pm while ISC (Class 12) examinations will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm. The practical examination for Class 12 will be held from 9 am to 12 pm. The board will conduct Class 10 exam from February 26 and it will end on March 28. Similarly, Class 12, theory exams 2018 will commence from February 12 and will conclude on April 02. In addition to the time indicated on the CISCE Timetable 2018 for writing the paper, 15 minutes time is given for reading the question paper. The question paper may be distributed to candidates at 10:45 a.m. to enable them to start writing at 11:00 a.m while for class 12 they will be distributed at 1:45 pm.
Last year, the ICSE exams began on March 10 and ended on April 21 while the ISC (Class 12) exams began on January 30 and ended on April 26. It is to note here that the practical exams for Class 12 will commence from February 07, and will end on March 20, 2018. The Practical paper will begin with Physics Paper 2 and will end with Art Paper 5 (Crafts ‘A’).
Likewise every year, Class 10 exams will begin with English Paper 1 (English Language). For Class 12, the trend has undergone change. No more the students will appear for English I as the first paper. Instead, the Commerce stream students will take Accounts (Paper 1) on February 15 while the Science students will take Physics on February 20 as their first paper.
