Indian origin scholars appointed for 2015 Asian studies fellows

Three scholars from Indian origin were appointed by the East-West Centre among total 6 of them this year. It comes out as the real pride for the country in the field of education where the Indians are now able to achieve the distinct position at East West, the reputed educational organization in the United States.

2015 asian studies fellowThe researchers are also provided with the residential facility who are working and writing facts on US-Asia policy. Among the three, the names are as follows:

# Surupa Gupta is recognized as an Indian American

# Vibhanshu Shekhar is also an Indian American

# Rahul Mishra is an Indian scholar based in New Delhi

Surupa Gupta works as an assistant professor at the University of Mary, Washington. She is appointed at the Political Science Department along with International affairs. And Vibhanshu Shekhar is a scholar who resides at the Asian Studies Center, American University.

The fellows were also entitled to attend a seminar revealing their views about their new journey and what’s their next plan. They have to move to Washington on a round-trip where they are provided with residence from where they would have to carry out the research work. So, it comes out as a great achievement from them giving our country a new identity.
