The date for Indian Institute of Technology Joint Admission Test has been announced, the test would be conducted on 7 February 2016. For admissions to M.Sc and Ph.D programmes, this examination would be conducted and this time it would be IIT Madras which would be organizing it.
2nd September would be the commencement of online registration and application process on the official website and 10th October would be the last day of payment of application fees by e-challan process. 14th October would be the last day for application submission and uploading the documents.
The test day is 7th February 2016 and the results for the test are scheduled to be announced on 23rd March. April 15th to 24th would be the submission of application form for admission on the website, 29th April would be last day for receipt of request for change of category with valid documents in proper format at IIT Madras, June 15th would be the first admission list declaration date, June 29th would be the date for second admission list declaration, July 11th would be the declaration of third admission list and finishing of the admission procedures.
Online process could also be used by the candidates for applying and the website is www.jam.iitm.ac.in. . There would be no necessity for hard copies.
Indian institute of Bangalore, IISC and Indian institute of Technology, IITs jointly conduct Joint Admission Test, JAM for admissions to M.Sc and Integrated PhD programmes at IISC, Bangalore. At the IITs, M.Sc , joint M.Sc-PhD, M.Sc-PhD Dual Degrees, MSc-MTech, MS-MS(Research)/ PhD Dual Degree and other various Post Bachelor Degree Programmes would be conducted.
Consolidation of Science as a career option for students in India would be the main aim of this JAM exam. The IISc and IITs boast of great research infrastructure, inter-disciplinary interaction and energetic academic surroundings which would motivate the students to pursue Research and Development careers in the areas of basic sciences plus the inter-disciplinary areas of science and technology .
Registration fees of Rs 1500 for one paper and Rs 2100 for two papers would be needed to be paid by the students belonging to unreserved or OBC category. For the students belonging to SC/ST/PwD and other reserved categories Rs 750 for one paper and Rs 1050 fr two papers need to be paid.
Application fees of Rs 750 for one paper and Rs 1050 for two papers need to be paid by female students appearing for the exam.
