As per the latest important information released by Indian Institute of Management Lucknow, the last date of registration for CAT 2017 has been extended to September 25, 2017 (5:00 pm).Aspiring candidates who have been waiting for the last minute, are once again advised to register and complete their applications well before this date. There will be no further extension. The application process began on August 09, 2017 and the earlier date decided to conclude the application process was September 20, 2017.
Another important announcement so far is that candidates who indicate their interest for IIM Indore PGP while applying for CAT 2017 will be considered both for Indore and Mumbai campus of IIM Indore Final election will be as per the admission procedure for the respective program.
CAT 2017, the Common Admission Test for admission into Indian Institutes of Management will be conducted by IIM Lucknow on 26th November 2017 in two sessions across approx. 140 cities. The candidates will be able to download the admit card on October 18, 2017, from 1 pm onwards.
Application Fee – INR 900 for SC, ST and PwD category candidates. INR 1800 for all other categories of candidates. Please note that a candidate needs to pay registration fee only once, irrespective of the number of institutes he/she is applying for.
Tutorial for CAT 2017 – Tutorial to understand the format of the test will be available on the CAT website from October 18, 2017. Candidates are advised to work on the tutorials, available on the website, well in advance.
About the Test – The duration of the test will be 180 minutes. There will be three sections: Section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Section II: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Section III: Quantitative Ability. Candidates will be allotted exactly 60 minutes for answering questions in each section and they cannot switch from one section to another while answering questions in a section.
CAT Score – The CAT results are likely to be declared by the second week of January 2018. CAT 2017 score is valid only till December 31, 2018, and will accordingly be accessible on the website.
Admission Process in IIMs – each IIM shortlists candidates for the second stage of selection which may be independent of each other. The process may include Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI). Performance in CAT 2017 examination is an important component in the admission process. If a candidate is shortlisted for interviews by any IIM, he/she must comply with the following eligibility verification: Mark sheets and Degree Certificate and Reservation Category Requirements
IIM Lucknow is convening CAT 2017 exam for admission to MBA/PGDM 2018-20 programmes in all the 20 IIMs, FMS Delhi, SPJIMR Mumbai, MDI Gurugram, IMI New Delhi, IMT Ghaziabad, JBIMS Mumbai, TAPMI Manipal and other hundreds of highly ranked B-schools in India. CAT has taken absolutely different shape as the testing partner of CAT exam was also changed in CAT 2014 from Prometric to TCS. This change has also prompted IIMs to change the CAT testing window.
