According to the latest notification received from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), the Institute has changed the eligibility criteria for admissions in MBA Programme through entrance test. IIFT registration 2017 process has already started, while the last date for application is 15 September 2017.
As per the revised eligibility criteria for IIFT MBA Admission Test, IIFT has decided to allow only those candidates to appear for the exam who have secured more than 50 percent marks in their graduation. Students who have scored less than 50 percent marks in their graduation won’t be allowed to sit in the IIFT MBA entrance exam.
Earlier, IIFT had been the sole hope for students who had scored less than 50 percent marks, and still wanted to pursue MBA. Unfortunately, things won’t be same from this year though.
The candidates should possess “Recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in any discipline with 50 percent marks in graduation (45 percent for SC/ST/PWD Candidates). Candidates appearing in the final year examination of Graduation can apply,” read the official IIFT 2018 notification released on July 25, 2017.
According to the revised eligibility criteria, the candidates now must possess a graduation degree from a recognized institution. The candidates must score more than 50 percent marks in their graduation. The students who are in the final year of their graduation programme can also apply for the exam. However, there is no age limit to apply for the IIFT examination test.
Indian Institution of Foreign Trade has also changed the date of the exam from 26 November to 3 December, 2017. Every year, the entrance exam for IIFT is held on 4th Sunday of November. But, this time exam date has been revised to 3 december, 2017 to avoid clash with CAT 2017 exam, which is scheduled to be held on 26 November,2017.
The application fee for general category is Rs. 1,550. However, candidates who belong to SC/ST/PH categories have to pay only Rs. 775. The mode of payment of application fee are both offline as well as online. The fee can be paid through DD or debit/credit card.
IIFT MBA exam paper will include 125 multiple choice type questions. The questions will be disributed among 4 sections:
- Verbal Ability
- Quantitative Ability
- Data Interpretation
- Reading Comprehension and General Awareness
Last date for applying for the examination has been set as 15 September, 2017 (Friday). The examination will be held on 3 December in a single shift of three hours. Meanwhile, Foreign National and NRIs will have time till 15 February to apply online and submit GMAT score.
IIFT MBA entrance examination will have four stages; written test, Group discussion, Writing Skill Assessment and Interview. The candidates have to qualify all these stages to pursue MBA in IIFT. The entrance exam will be held in cities such as Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubeneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Hydrabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Visakhapatnam.
