IDBI Executive 2017 Exam was organized in multiple shifts today across 30 selected cities. Around 1 lakh candidates had filled the application forms in November/ December and were allotted test centers to take the online exam. As the exam concludes today, let’s find out how the exam turned out for the aspirants.
The IDBI Bank Executive Online Exam consisted of 150 multiple-choice questions distributed equally among three sections: Reasoning, English Language, and Quantitative Aptitude. The candidates were given 90 minutes to solve the test. The Reasoning section was the easiest among the three and is expected to affect the cut-offs on the total score. As the candidates are also required to obtain minimum qualifying marks in each section, the English section is going to be most important from this point. Here is the section-wise analysis of IDBI Executive Exam 2016-17:
- Reasoning (50 questions) – Most of the questions in Reasoning section were easy and the candidates might have saved time to solve the other sections. The section was made up of the following parts:
Syllogism – 5 questions
Sitting Arrangement & Puzzles – 15 questions
Input Output – 5 questions
Coding-Decoding – 5 questions
Inequalities – 5 questions
Alpha-Numeric Series – 5 questions
Miscellaneous – 10 questions
- English Language – The section also consisted of 50 questions, in which some of them required critical thinking. Overall, the section was moderate in terms of difficulty level. The questions were as:

Quadratic Equations – 5 questions
Data Interpretation – 15 questions
Number Series – 5 questions
Miscellaneous (SI, CI, Speed & time, Proft & loss, Time and Work, Averages, etc) – 15 questions
As per the exam review, the candidates who have attempted at least 80-90 questions correct, will stand a chance to be called for further selection process. This may be classified as Reasoning Ability (35-40 questions), English Language (30-35 questions) and Quantitative Aptitude (25 questions).
The cut-offs are expected to remain higher as there will be no interview after the online exam. The qualified candidates will be called for document verification and pre-recruitment medical test, while the final selection is completely dependent on the online test marks.
The notification was released by the IDBI Bank in November for filling 500 Executive posts. The qualified candidates will be appointed on contract basis for a period of 1 year, extendable for a further period of 2 years.
