On Thursday, 16 July 2015, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), announced the results of Chartered Accountant (Final) exam. Exams were held in May this year, two students from Delhi and Secunderabad secured top ranks scoring 75.75%.
From CPT 2015 results it was confirmed that, Meka Naresh kumar of Hyderabad secured All India first rank with 192 marks and Saloni Jindal of Indore got second with 190 marks followed by Katla Suresh of Vijayawada, who got 189 marks. A total of 128916 candidates appeared for the exam, with male candidates numbering 76,179 and female candidates numbering 52,737.
A pass percentage of 8.26 was seen out of total of 42,847 candidates who appeared for the exam. Student from Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh secured second rank, Mumbai based Deval Modi came third with 71.88%. Inspite of the exam being very tough, students were able to perform well as the pass percentage has been rising steadily over the past two years. In May 2014 examination, 7.29% candidates passed and in November 2013 Examinations 3.11 % passed. But the percentage of passes in May 2012 and November 2012 are very much above 2013 and 2014 pass percentages. May 2012 recorded pass percentage of 16.38% and November 2012 recorded 12.97%.
Chartered Accountancy examinations are conducted by ICAI twice in a year, in the months of May and November and thousands of candidates appear for the exam. According to Mr Manoj Fadnis, President, ICAI, the profession of Chartered Accountancy is growing and students are also highly committed, focused, hardworking. This CA course has got great future prospects for students who complete successfully.
Telangana candidate Rahul Aggarwal and Delhi’s Shailee Chaudhary, secured first rank scoring 606 out of total 800 marks. Lakshmi Anusha of Machilipatnam got second with 584 marks followed by Mumbai’s Deval Modi with 575 marks. Rahul Aggarwal spoke about the hard work he had put for the exam, with his sister also helping him out in his preparation, as she was top ranker in CA Finals three years ago.
Common Proficiency Test (CPT) was held in the month of June and its results have also been declared at the official result portal. Candidate first has to select either CPT June 2015 or Final CA results, then enter his/her roll number followed by the pin number or registration number.
Only 32,619 candidates have passed, thus resulting in the overall pass percentage of 25.30 %. Girls out performed boys in the CPT exam with 25.48% of them clearing the exam compared to 25.18 % boys clearing it.
