IBPS RRB prelims 2016 held; exam analysis for 12 November

IBPS conducted RRB Prelims exam today for Office Assistant (Multipurpose) posts. The prelims exam was conducted for the first time with all new pattern. Being the first day, RRB Office Assistant Prelims exam was conducted in five slots, the exam would also be conducted on November 13 and 19, 2016. Check below for exam analysis of all slots.

IBPS had notified to fill 8,824 posts of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) in September and as per the schedule, the preliminary exam is being organized across the country. After the completion of preliminary exam, the results are expected to be announced in the first week of December as the main exam is scheduled for December 18.

IBPS RRB Prelims exam consisted of 80 questions divided equally among two sections – Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude. Each question carries one mark, while the candidates were allotted only 45 minutes to solve both sections. As reported, the exam was quite moderate in terms of difficulty level, hence the candidates were required to manage their time well.

The Reasoning section was comparatively easy than the Quant, as the candidates claimed. The questions in Reasoning section were divided among Syllogism, Puzzles (Linear and Circular), Inequality, Direction and Blood Relation, Alpha-Numeric Series and Miscellaneous (Ranking, Alpha-Numerical, Direction Sense, etc). The Quantitative Aptitude section contained questions from Series, Simplification, Approximation, Data Interpretation (tabular graph) and Miscellaneous – Profit/Loss, Average, Time and Work, Average, Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, etc.

The reasoning section was easy comparative to the quantitative aptitude. Overall paper was easy to moderate.

There are no interviews for this recruitment process and candidates would be provisionally selected based on the performance in the main exam. Provisinal allotment would be done depending on the number of vacancies available in each state and will be done in February 2017.
