IBPS announced the results of RRB PO preliminary examination on Friday and now the cut-off scores have come out for most of the States. The candidates can check the state-wise IBPS RRB PO cut off marks in this article. IBPS had administered the online preliminary examination for RRB Officer Scale 1 (PO) on September 9, 10 & 16, while IBPS RRB PO result was announced on October 13.
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) had released the official notification (CRP RRBs VI) in July to fill Group A Officers (Scale I, II & III) and Group B Office Assistant (Multipurpose) posts in 56 participating Regional Rural Banks (RRBs). As per the current revised tally, there are total 15,570 vacancies to be filled in the participating RRBs. This includes 8,418 posts of Office Assistant (Multipurpose), 5,236 Office Scale-I posts, 1,747 Officer Scale-II and 169 Officer Scale-III posts.
As per the selection process, the preliminary examination was conducted by IBPS for Officer Scale-I (PO) and Office Assistant (Multipurpose) posts on multiple dates in September. The result of IBPS RRB Office Assistant prelims was declared on October 9, while the IBPS RRB PO prelims result was announced on October 13. The candidates will be able to check their result status till November 5 (check result from here). The qualified candidates will now have to appear for Online Main Examination, the exam date of IBPS RRB PO Main exam is November 5, while Office Assistant Main exam date is November 12. Apart from the Main exam, IBPS will also conduct Single Online Examination for Officer Scale-II & III posts on November 5.
IBPS RRB PO Prelims was conducted as a single paper comprising of total 80 questions. The questions were equally distributed among Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude sections. IBPS uses the following method to arrive at the scores of online preliminary exam:
- The scores obtained by the candidates are calculated after analyzing the correct and incorrect answers (to apply penalty).
- The corrected scores are made equivalent (to counter the difficulty level in tests held in different sessions) to arrive at the equated scores. An equated score is basically the score obtained by candidates on any test arrived by equating it to the base form by considering the distribution of scores of all the forms.
- The final score in each test is round off to up to 2-digits after the decimal point.
The total score obtained by the candidates is calculated by combining the scores obtained in Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude.
IBPS applies the cut-offs on scores obtained by the candidates in individual tests as well as on total score. For 2017 exam, the sectional IBPS RRB PO prelims cut off marks are 8.25 for Reasoning and 7.00 for Quantitative Aptitude. The candidates who have scored marks more than the IBPS RRB PO cut off marks will now have to take the Online Main examination scheduled to be held on the first Sunday of November month. The main exam will carry 200 marks and the candidates will have to solve the question paper in 2 hours time.
The candidates further declared qualified in the Main exam will be called for Interview (in the ratio 1:3) which will be held in December. The provisional allotments will be made by January 2018.
