The online application process for IBPS PO 2017 ended on 5th September (Tuesday) and with it, the next phase for banking aspirants started. The first phase – Preliminary examination is scheduled for October 7, 8, 14 & 15, 2017 and the admit cards for prelims exam will be out in the last week of September. Before the preliminary exam, IBPS will also organize pre-exam training sessions for a limited number of candidates between September 23 to 29. Read below for more details.
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) had released the notification (CWE PO/MT-VII) on 14th August 2017 for filling total 3,562 vacancies of Probationary Officers/ Management Trainees. The online application process commenced from 16th August and ended on 5th September. The candidates were given time till 5th September to submit the application as well as make correction in the application details. The aspirants who have completed the application within the prescribed dates may take the print out of filled application form by 20th September.
As per the official notification, the recruitment will have three successive stages- Preliminary exam, Main exam, and Interview round. The centers of the Pre and Main exams will be across the country. Since Pre-Exam Training will be held from 23rd September, the call letters will be made available around 15th September. IBPS PO Preliminary exam is scheduled to be held on 07, 08, 14, and 15th October and the admit cards are expected to be issued by the last week of September. The applicants will have to download IBPS PO admit card from the official website ibps.in.
IBPS PO PHASE I-Preliminary Exam: The exam will be held in online mode and the question paper will be presented in Hindi and English language. The question paper will have 100 MCQs divided into 3 major sections- English Language (30 questions), Quantitative Aptitude (35 questions), and Reasoning Ability (35 questions). The applicant will have to complete the exam in an hour. Each question will carry 1 mark. A penalty of 0.25 (25% marks) will be charged for each incorrect answer. The result of prelims will be announced in October month.
IBPS PO PHASE II- Main Exam: The Main exam is scheduled to be held on 26th November. IBPS has implemented multiple changes in the exam pattern of IBPS PO Main examination.
The Main exam question paper will have 155 questions divided into 4 sections- Reasoning & Computer Aptitude (45 questions), General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness (40), English Language: Letter writing and essay (35), and Data Analysis & Interpretation (35). The maximum marks for the serial-wise sections will be 60, 40, 40, and 60 respectively. The overall time given to complete the Main exam will be 3 hours.
IBPS PO PHASE III- Interview: The applicants declared qualified in Main exam will be further called to appear for 100 marks interview session. The Interview will be held in either January or February 2018. The applicants will have to submit the following mentioned original documents at the time of interview:-

- Date of birth proof
- Online application form
- Photo Identify Proof
- Marksheets from 10th onwards
- Caste certificate
- Experience certificate
- Age relaxation certificate
- NOC if employed in government firm
IBPS PO Main and final result will be declared online as a PDF file. The final result will have the selected applicants for the final recruitment. The provisional allotment of selected candidates will be done in the month of April 2018.
