IBPS PO 2017 application process has commenced now and the banking aspirants should apply online for IBPS PO recruitment as early as possible. Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) published the notification (CWE PO/MT-VII) on 14th August 2017 for the recruitment of 3562 vacancies. The online application has begun from 16th August and will continue to remain open until 5th September.
The recruitment is being done for the posts of Probationary Officers (PO) and Management Trainees in different public sector banks and other organizations. The maximum vacancies are available in Canara Bank this year, having 1350 vacancies.
As per the norms, in order of apply for IBPS PO 2017 the applicants shall possess a graduate degree in any subject from a recognized University or an equivalent qualification. The candidate’s age shall be between 20 and 30 years. As far as the relaxation in age is concerned, +5 years for SC/ST, +3 years for OBC, +10 Years for PWD, and +5 years for ex-servicemen or people affected by 1984 riots will remain applicable.
The applicants can pay the application fee via online mode such as Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, and Cash Cards. The applicants belonging to the General category shall have to pay 600/- INR while the applicants belonging to ST/SC/ PWD shall have to pay 100/- INR.
The recruitment process will include a preliminary (Phase I) and main exam (Phase II) followed by a Personal Interview round (Phase III). The admit cards for preliminary exam and the main exam will be issued in the month of September and November respectively. All the eligible applicants will be required to go through the online preliminary exam that will be conducted on October 7, 8, 14, and 15. Based on the performance in the preliminary exam, a limited number of candidates will be called for the online main exam to be held on 26th November.
The IBPS PO preliminary exam will be taking place through the online manner in both Hindi and English languages. There will be 100 MCQs for 3 major sections including- English Language (30 questions), Quantitative Aptitude (35 questions) and Reasoning Ability (35 questions). The candidates will be given 1 hour to solve the question paper. Each question will carry one mark. There will be negative marking for each incorrect answer i.e. 0.25 (25% marks) will be deducted for each wrong response.
The result of the preliminary exam will be announced in the month of October, while the main exam result will be declared in December. The Interview round will be organized in January/ February. IBPS has also announced two changes in the exam pattern, first the number of questions in Main exam has been reduced and second, the duration of the test has been increased.
