IBPS PO exam 2016 registrations over; the road ahead

Now that the registrations are over for IBBS PO 2016 examination, let’s take a look at the road ahead with important dates and details.

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) had announced the 2016 Probationary Officer (PO) exam (CWE PO/MT-VI) for PO/management trainee posts in various public sector banks and the participating organisations.

The apply online facility which was availed from July 26, will come to end today on August 13th. If you haven’t completed your application yet, do so now. Candidates may register and edit their applications on the official website. Candidates are advised to read the notification once, before proceeding to fill the form.

Over 8.8 thousand vacant posts are to be filled through this recruitment process. And it’s expected that IBPS receives around 25-30 lakh applications each year for the recruitment examination of Probationary officers.

So far IBPS has not issued any notice or extended the deadline to register for the examination and there are least chances of it, so apply now if you’re aspiring for the job on Probationary officer/ Management Trainee post.

Exam details: The IBPS PO 2016 exams would be conducted in a three-stage process i.e., preliminary and main exam conducted only through online mode, followed by an interview before the allotment.

Preliminary exam: In the qualifier examination which is preliminary, questions based on English language, quantitative aptitude and reasoning ability will be asked in the exam. According to the notification, the preliminary exam would comprise of a total of 100 questions which should be answered within an hour. Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing cut-off marks as set by IBPS.

IBPS PO Mains exam 2016 details: In the mains examinations, the questions will be asked on the basis of reasoning, English language, quantitative aptitude, general awareness with special emphasis on banking & computer knowledge. The exam will include a total of 200 questions, which candidates will be required to answer with in 2 hour and 20 minutes time duration. Each section must be completed within the specified time limit. IBPS will determine the cutoff scores (section-wise and total) to be called for common interviews.
