The admit card for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) Probationary Officer (PO) prelims 2016 exam has left candidates confused since many of them got their exam date as October 27, which wasn’t notified in the advertisement.
The IBPS PO admit card / call letters 2016 are available on the official web portal www.ibps.in for all eligible applicants. The exam for recruitment of Probationary Officers/ Management Trainees (PO/MT) was notified in July this year while the applications were invited from July 26 to August 13. As the first step of the selection process, the IBPS is going to conduct the preliminary exam this month. Over 2 million candidates have been reported to have filled the online application form and are required to appear for the preliminary exam initially.
The preliminary exam was tentatively scheduled to be held on October 16, 22 & 23, however, the IBPS has shuffled the dates. The last test would be conducted on October 27, while the candidates can check their respective exam date through their IBPS PO call letter. The result of the preliminary exam is expected to be announced in November as the main exam is scheduled for November 20.
Some candidates also pointed out to us that the exam date in their IBPS PO admit card is mentioned October 27th, whereas this date is not mentioned in the official notification and advertisement. Although it’s certain that the date on the admit card is correct and IBPS may have added another day for the test holding, yet candidates can expect any notice soon from the IBPS clearing the issue.
IBPS is conducting the CWE PO / MT – VI for filling 8,822 posts in 20 participating organisations. The candidates are required to go through a three-tier selection process that includes preliminary exam, main exam, and interview. The preliminary exam would be conducted across 213 cities on several days this month. After the conclusion of interviews in February/March, the provisional allotment would be done in April.
The preliminary examination would be of 100 marks distributed along three sections. These three sections are : English Language (30 questions), Quantitative Aptitude (35 questions) and Reasoning Ability (35 questions). The test would be taken through online mode and the candidates would be given 1 hour time to solve all the questions. For further selection to the main exam, the candidates are required to obtain minimum qualifying marks in each section separately as well as score enough marks to be included in the merit list.
The candidates who have applied for IBPS PO recruitment are required to download their respective admit card and carry it to the examination venue as no one would be given entry into the centre without a valid admit card and identity proof. The candidates are required to bring the photo identity proof in original and photocopy for the test. As per the rules, the candidates would have to give their left-hand impression and hand over their call letter along with the photocopy of the photo identity proof to the invigilator in the examination hall.
