The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has conducted the mains examination for recruitment to clerical cadre posts on December 31, 2016 and January 1, 2017 and the results are still awaited after one month. It’s so unlike IBPS which usually declares the results within two weeks. It’s more surprising when you consider that the number of candidates in mains exam is nowhere near prelims.
In prelims, reportedly around 25 lakh applications were submitted and a great percent of them took the exam too. Out of them somewhere under/over 3.5 lakh had qualified for mains. Considering that IBPS has not revealed the official numbers/data, it’s hard to get around facts but it’s the approximation here. The ratio of vacancy to number of candidates in mains is said to be around 1:20 like many other banking exams. The vacancies to be filled through clerk exam 2016 are 19,243.
Coming back to point, the status of IBPS clerk mains result declaration is still unclear. Even though it’s time that the results should come any day now, no official notice has been put online by IBPS to candidates’ minds at ease. The speculations may go on forever contributing to the lack of official consent. ExamsWatch reached out to IBPS officials, who chose not to comment on the matter.
Expectedly, the results of IBPS clerk mains exam 2016 will be announced by February first week. Stay connected with me here to keep track of the results and all things related.
