The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) had rolled out the official notification (CWE Clerk VI) for the recruitment to 19,243 Clerical cadre posts in 19 participating Banks/Organizations. The applicants accepted the opportunity with open hands and as much as 24 lakh applications were submitted in August/ September. Accordingly, the prelims exam was conducted on November 26 & 27 and December 3 & 4 to shortlist the candidates. Based on the results announced on December 9, around 2 lakh candidates were declared qualified for the main exam, which is also the final phase of selection process.

Coming back to the Clerk Main exam, the exam would consist of 200 objective type questions to be answered within 135 minutes. Additionally, there is a time limit for each section as described in the picture below.

There will be the designated cut-off score for each test separately as well as for the total score, hence the candidates will be required to obtain minimum score in each test as well as in the exam as a whole. The final selection will be based on the performance of the candidates in the Main exam only as the Interviews for Clerical cadre posts are no longer in practice. The Bank will give provisional allotment to the candidates based on the Main exam marks only and the performance in the prelims would not be considered anymore.

As the time is very less for the exam day as well as the festival season is around the corner, it is quite necessary for the aspirants not to let their concentration swung into any other direction. As far as the difficulty level of the Clerk mains exam is concerned, there would be hardly any luck in favour of less hard work and going by the difficulty level of other exams being conducted by IBPS, there is not even a single possibility of an easy paper.

The Mains exam is the last hurdle in the way to achieve success and the days of final preparation start today. But first, do not forget to fetch your call letters as this is your gate pass to the test venue. Access IBPS Clerk Mains admit card from here.
