HP Patwari exam 2016 was smoothly conducted and the answer keys will be released soon by officials before the results come out.
The Revenue Department, Himachal Pradesh conducted the Patwari written exam today for filling up 1120 posts. The Revenue Department is facing acute shortage of Patwaris and hence the government issued the recruitment notification to fill 1,120 posts of Patwari. Most of the vacancies are in Shimla, Kangra and Mandi districts. Over 2 lakh applicants from across the State had applied for the same and as per the schedule, the written test has been conducted today in 49 specified test centres. The authorities had shortlisted 10 test centres in Shimla, 9 centres in Mandi, 7 in Kangra, and 6 centres each in Chamba, Hamirpur and Sirmaur. 2 centres were also finalised in Kullu along with 1 centre each in Bilaspur, Kinnaur and Lahaul & Spiti. Mostly colleges were selected as the test venues in these districts.
The written exam of Patwari recruitment has been conducted in one shift from 11 am to 12.30 pm. Strict security arrangements were made across all the test centres and even CCTVs were installed in some test centres.
Tarun Shridhar, Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) said, “The government is focusing on the Patwari recruitment concerning the general public. The locals have to wait for many days to get their documents including income certificates. These processes could be finished in time once the new patwaris are recruited.”
The candidates who have written the Patwari recruitment exam will be shortlisted for training and upon the successful completion of training, they will be placed to the post of Patwari on contract basis in Revenue department. Since the eligibility to apply for the recruitment process was 10+2 pass, around 2 lakh applications were received for the written exam.
