Even 10 days have not passed when Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) made Aadhaar Card mandatory for JEE Main 2017, and the Board of School Education Haryana (HBSE) has made it mandatory for students of Class 10 and 12 to have Aadhaar card while applying for the 2017 board examination. Till last year too, Aadhar Card was used in the examination process, however, it was not mandatory.
Haryana is third in the row to make Aadhaar card mandatory for Board appearing students after Gujarat and Maharashtra. Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has made mandatory to provide the details of Aadhar card while doing registration for class X and XII board exam in the month of September.
Actually, this is the new eligibility criteria that the aspirants need to fulfill. Any JEE aspirant or Board aspirant in Haryana, Gujarat and Maharashtra, who is an Indian citizen, has to give the details of his Aadhaar card such as their Aadhaar number, name, date of birth and gender, which will be validated with UIDAI’s data when filling up the online form for the exam.
The candidates will benefit from the move in many ways. The use of Aadhaar will prevent forgery of certificates and impersonation cases and ensure that the candidates’ details are complete and accurate. The Board has taken several steps to ensure smooth implementation of the decision. Schools which did not provide Aadhaar of candidates earlier may now fill up the relevant column in the checklist sent by the Board.
If the details of the students, which he or she has given in the school, vary from his Aadhaar card details, then also he/she will not be able to appear in the exam. Therefore, the students are advised to ensure that their Aadhaar card has correct details of their name, date of birth and gender as per school records. If there is some mismatch in these details, the students should immediately get it corrected in Aadhaar data or school records, as the case may be.
