The admit cards of Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) 2017 will now be released on May 5, the admission committee notified here on Saturday evening. As per the original official notification, the admit cards were to be issued to the registered candidates on April 29. However, today, gujcet.gseb.org (the official website) displayed a notice saying ” GUJCET 2017 hall ticket will be available online from May 5, 2017″.

It must be noted that the board (GSEB) would not dispatch GUJCET admit card / hall ticket to candidates via post/courier. The candidates are required to download their admit cards form gujcet.gseb.org onward of 5th May, 2017. It is also mandatory to carry admit cards on the test day with an valid identity card.

Candidates will have to login with their registration details at the official website to access the hall tickets.

Exam schedule

 

The test is scheduled for May 10th as per the revised schedule. The date of holding GUJCET was earlier set on May 11th.

On 10 May, 2017, the test timings for Physics and Chemistry paper are 10 am to 12 pm. Biology paper will be held from 1 pm to 2 pm and Mathematics from 3 pm to 4 pm. The details of test venue and necessary instructions will be given in the admit card itself.

Exam pattern:

GUJCET will be conducted in offline mode not computer based and engineering as well as pharmacy aspirants will get 3 hours to write their respective exam. Physics & Chemistry are compulsory for the candidates of both streams but Maths and Biology exams are as per their opted domain.

The test will consist of 120 marks (40 question from each subject) and maximum of 120 marks. The negative marking scheme is also present in GUJCET. 0.25 marks will be deducted on every wrong answer.

About Test:

GUJCET has made comeback this year after a year’s hiatus. Last year the test was replaced with JEE in the state of Gujarat. The test is conducted for admissions to the first year of professional degree courses such as B.Tech/B.E. and B.Pharma etc in the government, grant-in aid and self-financing colleges in the state on state government/management quota seats. The all India quota seats come under JEE.

The Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) is overseeing the organising of the examination as directed by State government. ACPC is presently based at L.D. college of engineering campus, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

After exam:

After the holding of the test, results are to be announced by the end of May and the counselling will follow. ACPC has not notified the schedule of declaring the results and conducting the counselling yet.

The test facilitates admission to 15 state government colleges, 3 government aid-in colleges, and 90 more institutions. Over one lakh students are to appear for GUJCET 2017 on May 10.
