‘Goa empowered with IT’ initiative launched to promote IT Education

Recent news that, Goa IT professionals, GITP, had launched ‘Goans Empowered with IT’ initiative has been the talk of the town. This initiative was launched at St Bartholoemew high school, Chorao. The main objective behind the initiative was to promote IT education. It must be noted that, three schools of Goa had been selected in the first stage. The schools Dayanand Bandodkar School, Gokuldem, Azmane High School, Neura-Mandur, St Bartholoemew high school, Chorao would be associated with GITP.

In the inaugural session, more than 200 students participated. Androcid founder, Mr Prajyot Mainkar, discussed about the use and development of technology. It was also said that, the GITP planned to help those children who showed great interest and it also wanted to make them realize their potential and turn their creative nature to passion for technology.

This initiative, well supported by Startup Goa, GITIC, had planned to expose the students to many sessions and courses of computer programming, app development, robotics etc in next few months. One important point that was brought out was that, the students would be exposed to the world of information technology by many exciting methods to create interest for exploration through self learning.
