Goa Board HSSC (Class 12) Board Exams to Begin From March 05, 2018

The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education have declared that the state board exams for Class 12 of the Indian state of Goa will begin from March 5, 2018. For these students, the board exams will end on March 24, 2018. The exam will commence with a language paper for students of arts, science and commerce streams

For students of the vocational stream and for children with special needs, the exam will begin a day later, i.e., on March 6. The public exam ends for students in both these categories on March 17. All papers on each day will begin at 10 am and students will have to report at the venue latest by 9.30am. The examination will be held at 16 centres across the state. The board has made it very clear that under no circumstances the exams will be postponed, even if on any given day it is declared a public holiday.Goa Class 12 Board Exams

Practical exam in National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) subjects will start by January 22, 2018, and will be conducted by the National Skill Development Council, New Delhi. For the general streams, the practical examination will commence from February 5, 2018. However, the detailed programme of the practical examination will be notified later through the heads of institutions. The candidates are advised that they should get the same ascertained from the heads of institutions.

Aspiring students ready to take Class 12 exams are required to register online through the Goa Board’s website. The registration process will end on November 10 for students of North Goa while for candidates from South Goa the registration process will end on November 13, 2017. The school-wise list of candidates registered for the March 2018 HSS examination will be displayed on the Board’s website along with their seat numbers and subjects offered by January 12, 2018.


In the board examinations of the year 2017, a total of 16,901 students appeared for the annual Goa Board HSSC March 2017 examination and the board expects a rise in passing percentage.

Going by the stats, maximum students were registered in Science stream for HSSC March exams. 5,216 students of Science stream appeared for HSSC exams as compared to 5,139 Commerce stream and 3,744 Arts stream students. Apart from these streams, as much as 2,802 Vocational stream students appeared for the exam this year. The general stream (Arts, Commerce and Science) exams had begun on March 1, 2017, and ended on March 22, 2017.
