With a motto that all students should have independent, enquiring minds and should always be encouraged to realize their full potential in the classroom, artistically and in sports, the first ever British Partnership school in India will be established. King’s College India will be established by King’s College, Taunton in collaboration with like-minded educators of India to share its vast experience of 135 years with Delhi/NCR and Rohtak. King’s College, Taunton has 135 years of educational history and is an independent co-educational secondary day and boarding school in Somerset, England.
Strides Charitable Trust is the official body which is introducing King’s College to India. While addressing the gathering during the launch, Mr Anshul, President of King’s College India said, “I am delighted to play a major role in the launch of this new, fully British, partnership school and I am looking forward to seeing the positive effect it will have on the education sector in this country.” The main aim of King’s College India is to make the pupil of India feel a desire for excellence and a love for learning which is beyond the prescribed academic books and the four walls of the school and classroom.
During the initial days the curriculum of King’s College India will be based on the British Common Entrance system. The curriculum will generate academic excellence for children up to 13 years old and will create a platform for them for high-performing success at IGCSE and A-levels at later stage.
King’s College India is expected to be inaugurated in August 2016 for students from Class 1 to Class 8. But the admission process for the same will kick-start by November 2015. As per the UK Prep-school system candidates aged between 6 to 13 years are eligible to seek admission.
Bradley Sailes who himself is an alumni of King’s College Taunton will be the Principal of King’s College India. He has 24 years of experience in the field of education both in the UK and abroad. Before accepting the position as Headmaster of King’s College India, he has been highly successful and respected Principal of Adesoye College, Offa, Nigeria for six years.
