Food Corporation of India recently notified to fill 860 posts of Watchman for manning posts in its Depots and Offices spread all over the Punjab State. The online applications for FCI Punjab recruitment 2017 have already started from 21st August. The applications for FCI Watchman recruitment 2017-18 can be filled through the designated online portal www.fcipunjabapply.com by 20th September.
FCI Punjab recruitment has been commenced for filling 860 posts, however, these numbers may increase of decrease as per the administrative needs. The candidates are required to pay Rs. 250 as the application fee, but SC/ ST/ PWD/ Ex-Servicemen/ Women applicants have been exempted from paying the fee.
The required age limit to apply for the exam lies between 18-25 years as on 1.08.2017. 5-year relaxation will be given to SC/ST candidates, while three year relaxation will be offered to OBC candidates. In terms of minimum educational qualification for the posts, the candidates must possess an eighth standard passing certificate. People who have worked for a minimum period of six months with FCI prior to 22.08.2002, will be given relaxation in the age and qualifying marks in the written test. Perhaps, these candidates have to upload an Affidavit while submitting their applications.
The selection procedure consists of two segments:
- FCI will conduct a written examination carrying 120 marks. The written examination for FCI Watchman recruitment will be conducted as a single paper having 120 multiple choice questions based on General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Reasoning, English Language and Numerical Ability. The exam will not carry negative marking for wrong answers.
- Physical Endurance Test: This will test candidate’s physical strength. It includes running, long Jump and high Jump. Each candidate will be given 3 attempts for Long Jump and High Jump to make their chances better for qualification.
The selection of the candidates for the post will be determined on the basis of performance in the written test while the Physical Endurance Test will remain qualifying in nature.
FCI has not announced the date for written examination and the same will be announced after the conclusion of application process. FCI watchman recruitment exam will be held at 13 centres across the state such as, Amritsar, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Faridkot, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Moga, Patiala, and Sangrur.
