External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has confirmed the death of an Indian nurse and her infant son on Saturday. Reportedly, they died in the rocket attack that happened in Libya on Friday.
Sushma Swaraj tweeted, “I have received report regarding the death of an Indian nurse and her infant son in Libya.” The nurse was in Zawiya, 45 km from Tripoli, when the rocket attack happened. Mrs Swaraj also gave some details regarding the incident that took place. She said that on Friday, at around 4 pm, the nurse, who was from Kerala, and her son Pranav, were killed when a rocket hit their apartment. The name of the nurse was Sunu Sathyan. She further added that Indian authorities have also got in touch with her husband as well. The name of her husband is Vipin. She also informed that according to the officials, 26 more Indians were working in the Zaiwya hospital.

The officials said that Pranav was 18 months old. Sunu and Vipin had left for Libya after they got married in the year 2012. Sushma Swaraj has called up the Indians abroad and has asked them to leave the conflict as soon as possible.
She said in her another tweet, “We have issued advisories many times. I request you once again – please move out of the conflict zones.”
Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that they are making a lot of efforts to reach out to the people in Libya to find out the latest situation.
