Now there can be two types of candidates approaching the exam, one those who are taking more than one management entrance exams this season, like CAT/SNAP/IIFT/NMAT, and second those who are only appearing for MAT.

We have prepared brief plans for both types of candidates. Take a look at the one which fits you:

Preparation plan for candidates appearing for other exams as well

CAT was on 26th November, IIFT is going to be 3rd December and after this the next exam is MAT. If a candidate is appearing for IIFT, he/she must have covered almost whole of the syllabus which will appear in MAT. Therefore, the only thing to do now is to take mocks. Take as many mocks as possible so that you get yourself acquainted with the exam pattern.

For candidates who haven’t appeared for IIFT, may not have covered the GK section. Therefore, one important priority here is to go through as much as GK as possible. Also, CAT does not include topics like number series, alphabetical series, vocabulary based questions, analogies, grammar etc. Therefore, candidates who appeared for the only CAT should complete the remaining topics at least a week before the exam. In the last week, the plan is to take as many mocks as possible.

Preparation Plan for candidates appearing for the only MAT

Now candidates who are preparing solely for MAT must have started their preparation at least 3-4 months before the exam. So, what they need to focus on now in revision.

On a daily basis, candidates must be solved at least 40-50 questions related to each section every day. Apart from this, a mock every alternate day will be fine. Candidates must also go through all the needed formulae, tips, tricks, rules 3-4 times within this period so that they do not forget anything important in the exam.
