‘E-Vidyavahini’, a computer literacy vehicle was launched by Deputy Commissioner of Faridabad in lieu of the ‘Digital India Mission‘ which was launched by the Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the month of July 2015. ‘E-Vidyavahini’ is a computer literacy vehicle that will travel to the urban and rural belts of the district.
As per the press release, in order to adjust with Prime Minister Narendra Modi Digital India Mission a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Deputy Commissioner Faridabad Amit Kumar Agrawal in the presence of President District Red Cross Society and Gopal Kukreja, President Rotary Club of Faridabad Sanskar.
The memorandum that was signed discussed in detail about the running of a ‘Digital Literacy Bus-E-Vidyavahini’ for the people of Haryana. The same was proposed by the Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar on September 5. In the views of Deputy Commissioner, a total of Rs. 35 lakhs money has been invested in building up the bus. The bus has been made with an aim to start the computer training on wheels.
While telling in detail about the bus, he told that the bus is equipped with 20 laptops, one LCD and they are very well connected to Internet facility. The bus has the provision to accommodate 20 students at a time to learn about computers. Amit Kumar Agrawal further added that the moving computer training institute would be travelling through urban as well as rural areas of the district.
Further talking about the arrangement of expenses that will be incurred on its running, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Rotary Club of Faridabad Sanskar has agreed to bear the expenses of the bus driver, conductor, computer trainer and the fuel cost.
Earlier this month, Union Human Resource Development Minister Smt. Smriti Irani launched the National Web Portal to promote the National Apprenticeship Scheme so as to bridge the gap between the students and industry. The web portal has been launched for Diploma holders and Class 12 pass-outs vocational certificate holders with an aim to offer them door step delivery of service, streamline processes and saves time for students.
