The deadline to register for MHT CET 2017 has been extended and the window to apply online has been reopened, State Common Entrance Test Cell, DTE Maharashtra, said in a press note issued here on Thursday. Previously, the deadline for the registrations was 7th April, which Maharashtra DTE has now pushed further to 10th April, 2017. If you missed the deadline and still wish to participate, then as per the latest notification, you can apply till April 10th.
As per the notification posted on 6th April, Maharashtra DTE, mentioned that State CET Cell had received requests from aspirants that due to some unknown reasons, they could not register within the previously stipulated time frame, and they wish to fill the MHT CET 2017 Application Form. The test is conducted for admissions into the undergraduate degree courses in Engineering/ Technology (B.E./ B.Tech) and Pharmacy in the government aided, university managed, university Departments and Unaided Institutes in the Maharashtra State.
In response to the same, State CET Cell agreed and notified that they are reopening the MHT CET 2017 application window till 10th April as the final extension and candidates will now have to pay the late fee, which nearly doubles the amount of application fees as to what was to be paid earlier.
The extended application window is active upto 3:00 PM, of 10th April. Candidates may apply online at the official website (https://mhtcet2017.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/).
The directorate had earlier informed that with a whooping hike of 45% in the registrations, they have received more than 3.8 million applications this year for the MHT CET 2017, and according to some experts, the demand for the engineering and pharmacy courses being offered by the colleges in the state has increased due to JEE, which is termed as relatively tough and includes the negative marking scheme. Aspirants finds it a bit easier to secure a seat through MHT CET, than through JEE in the state.
- Now, aspirants of General category from Maharashtra State, Outside Maharashtra State (OMS), Jammu & Kashmir migrants, are required to pay Rs. 1600/- (including late fee).
- Those who belongs to Backward Class Categories [SC, ST, VJ/DT- NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC,
SBC] and applicants with disability belonging to Maharashtra State only, needs to pay Rs. 1200/- (including late fee).
- The application fee for the extended application window is non-refundable.
- Application fee can be paid only through online mode via Credit Card, Debit Card, Internet Banking, IMPS, cash cards/ mobile wallets along with the processing/ services charges applicable as per the rules and terms of the organisation.
State CET Cell reserves the right to allot the examination centres to the applicants who have registered during the extended application window.
Other than the registration dates, the rest of the schedule remains unchanged. The entrance exam will be conducted on May 11, 2017 and the hall tickets to the registered candidates would be issued on April 24.
