Justice For Aditya : Manorama Devi’s Bail Plea Hearing Deferred, Another Accused Surrenders

A teen named Aditya Sachdeva was killed in another road rage case late night on May 7 in Gaya, Bihar and the main accused – Rocky Yadav, son of Bihar MLC Manorama Devi was arrested two days later. Aditya’s friends, who were along with him in the car that night, alleged that Rocky bullied them and shot their friend using a pistol. They have alleged that when Aditya overtook Rocky’s car, the latter chased them and stopped their car, after which Rocky shot Aditya, saying that he should learn a lesson for overtaking car of Bindi Yadav’s son. Police reported there were three persons in Rocky’s car at the time of crime, including Rocky, his bodyguard Rajesh Kumar and Rocky’s cousin Teni Yadav.

Rocky was absconding since the time of crime and so his cousin Teni. Police arrested Rocky’s father Bindi Yadav and bodyguard Rajesh for inquiry and raided Manorama Devi’s house where they found liquor bottles and seized her house. Manorama Devi is also being suspended from her party, Janata Dal (United). When Manorama Devi was interrogated by police, she gave them the location of Rocky, after which he was arrested, the police also recovered pistol that was used in the crime.

An arrest warrant was issued against Manorama Devi under state’s prohibition law and she filed an anticipatory bail petition in the court on May 13, but the court deferred hearing on the bail plea. Devi’s lawyer Kaisar Sarfuddin said, “The hearing took place today. The judge has asked for the case diary. Her name is not there in the FIR. We have not got any next date.” Devi have alleged in her petition that she is being falsely trapped.

Absconding Teni Yadav, surrendered before the court today and was sent to judicial custody for 14 days. In his statement to police, Teni claimed that he was not present in the car along with Rocky at the time of crime.

Bihar police is claiming that they have all the required proofs and soon the guilty would be punished. Additional Director General of Police Sunil Kumar said, “Police have been working to complete investigations in the case within three weeks. The charge sheet will be filed within a month to ensure speedy trial.”

Meanwhile, Aditya’s family is demanding speedy justice in the case and that Rocky must be hanged to death for his crime.
