Delhi university, established in the year 1922, is a public central university located in Delhi. With more than 3,50,000 students studying, this university is regarded very highly and had set very high standards in teaching as well as in research activities.
The admission process in all affiliated colleges started with a high note this year, wherein student bodies criticized DU for its unrealistic cut-offs. The cut-off have touched maximum 100% for some course-college combination, while four cut-off lists have been put, here is a quick analysis of what DU fifth cut off holds for students.
Recently, Delhi University had released its fifth cut off list for admissions to the academic year 2015-16. Many prestigious colleges namely Lady Shri Ram College, Hindu College, Kirori Mal College and Ramjas College have kept door open for courses such as Economics, English,Psychology and B.Com (Hons). Students can get seat in Kirori Mal College in Economics with cut offs 96 to 96.25%, similarly English (94.75 to 95.5%), B.Com (Hons.) (96.25 to 96.5%) and B.Com (Pass) (95.75 to 96%).
Cut-offs for seats in the Economics branch in Shri Ram College of Commerce is 97.375%. Hindu college has seats to be taken still in Economics with cut-off 96.75%, Philosophy 91.75% and B.Com (Hons.) 96.75%. Indraprastha College for Women has seats for Economics (95.5%), English (94.75%), History( 92.25%), Philosophy (88%). Ramjas College still has seats for Economics with cut-offs 96%, English 94.75%, History 93.25%.
South campus college has seats in Psychology with cut-offs 97.75% and in Sociology 95.5%. For students coming under general category, the college had stopped the intake. For students those belonging to SC, ST, OBC and Physically Handicapped category, admissions are still open there.
In Kamala Nehru College, admission process is still on for students with cut-offs 93.5% and 90% in the departments of Journalism and Political Science respectively. The admission formalities for students can be completed between July 14 to July 16 2015 and the time at which it can be done is from 9 am to 1 pm.
Official website that can be used to check the cut-off list is www.du.ac.in and on August 14, the application procedure would finish. This year, Delhi University has received over 4 lakh applications. In total 3,20,799 applications have been submitted with 2,32,049 online applications and 88,750 offline applications.
