Delhi government has issued show cause notice to the Maxfort School over irregularities in its two branches. It has also been decided that the government would takeover these branches.
Delhi government has been strict over the private schools ever since it came to power and has taken adequate steps to improve the state-run schools in order to provide a better alternative to parents and students. Private schools in Delhi have been increasing the fee on a regular basis and that too with a hefty rise. Several parents had complained to the Department of Education, Education Minister and even Chief Minister.
Today, Delhi education minister Manish Sisodia informed that a show-cause notice has been served to takeover two branches of Maxfort School. The government has decided to takeover two branches of Maxfort School, one at Rohini and other at Pitampura.
Sisodia mentioned that the department has found irregularities in EWS admissions in both the branches of school. It has also been reported that the school had been keeping false records of the teaching staff to retain its affiliation.
The two branches of Maxfort School came into the radar of the Directorate of Education long back and even the government asked the Economic Offenses Wing of police to investigate over the complaints received against the school. It was alleged that these two branches were involved in the illegal transactions of over Rs 50 crore. The DoE had also directed the school authorities to refund the amount.
Just one day back, Delhi government had removed Principals of five government schools. The government had found evidence of their involvement in financial irregularities in school welfare fund, scholarship fund, salary and admission.
