Delhi Government has launched an initiative in order to provide support to the talented students across the State to pursue higher education by providing them with financial assistance. The Chief Minister’s Super Talented Children Scholarship, under which the Government will assist some shortlisted students with coaching and guidance and monetary assistance to cope up with financial hardship.
Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia, while addressing a press conference, announced that through this scheme some of the most talented student minds would be offered assistance from the government in order to opt for higher studies whose families are not able to provide their students with such opportunities.
Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that this scheme is applicable for the students who are presently studying in class XI and XII in science stream. A sum total of 400 talented students will be selected who will receive scholarship for private coaching in order to secure admission in prominent institutions India.
The directorate of education will conduct screening test in order to select the students for this scheme. As for now a screening test would be conducted for the students studying in Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidhyalaya and 54 Model Delhi Government Schools in class XI & XII (as pilot scheme).
According to the officials the ‘CM’s Super Talented Children Scholarship’ is applicable only for science students studying in higher secondary but later on this scheme will also be applicable for the students in arts and commerce department. The government has already declared that the number of candidates beneficial from this scheme would be 400, as many as 250 from XIth standard and 150 from XII standard.
The main moto of this scheme is to provide students from economical backward class with world class education to prepare themselves to crack various entrance examinations conducted by apex institutions in India. The selected students will be funded to take admission in coaching centers for engineering and medical entrance exam.
In this project the coaching institutes like FIITJEE, Vidyamandir and Akash will be considered as the valid institutes. And the government would bear the expenses of students selected under the scholarship scheme in order to take admission in these coaching institutes. Students selected under this scheme will also be provided with DTC/Metro passes as said by Aam Aadmi Party official.

‘Most of our children from government schools do not get into professional courses including IITs, NITs, medical and dental colleges. The reason is lack of guidance and resources during their school days’ as said by Mr. Sisodia.
Delhi government has decided to take this initiative in order to promote more and more students to opt professional studies. As for the betterment those students who are talented and deserves to be at better places in future but unable to do that due to proper guidelines or due to financial problems.
