The Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU), Gorakhpur University, also know as DDUGU has opened the application process for admissions in undergraduate and postgraduate programs for the academic session 2017-18. The admissions for around 3,470 seats in UG programs and 2,165 seats in PG programs will be offered on the basis of entrance exam that is scheduled to commence from June 1. The applications for DDU entrance exam can be filled online at www.ddugorakhpuruniversity.in.
DDU opened the application process for admissions on April 22 and it will continue up to May 21. Before registration, the students are advised to go through the application brochure to check the eligibility. The registration fee is Rs. 750 for UG courses and Rs. 1,000 for PG courses for general category candidates. The fee for the students belonging to the reserved category candidates is Rs. 400 and Rs. 500 respectively. The wards of University staff are not required to pay any fee for DDU entrance exam.
As per the details of seats available in different courses given by DDU, maximum 1,950 seats are available in B.A. course, while 640 seats are available in 4 disciplines of B.Sc. There are 400 seats in B.Com, 60 seats in BBA, 40 seats in BCA and 60 seats in Bachelor of Journalism (B.J) course. Another 320 seats are also on offer in LL.B course. Around 2,165 seats in PG programs will also be filled through the DDU entrance exam.
Through the brochure, DDU has also announced that the students seeking admission in B.Sc. Home Science course will have to take the entrance exam of B.Sc. Maths or B.Sc. Biology course as no separate entrance exam will be conducted for admissions in B.Sc. Home Science course.
The entrance exam for Bachelor’s degree programs (UG) will be conducted from June 1 to 4, while PG entrance exam will be held from June 5 to 12. DDU entrance exam will be conducted in Gorakhpur city only and the details regarding exam venue and timings will be printed on the DDU admit card. The admit card for DDU entrance exam 2017 will be issued to all the registered candidates and the same will be hosted at the University web portal www.ddugorakhpuruniversity.in after completion of application process.
Based on the marks obtained in the entrance exam and due weightage, DDU will prepare a merit list for admissions in all the courses. All the admissions will be done on the basis of DDU entrance exam.
The entrance exam for Bachelor’s degree courses (UG) will comprise of 150 multiple choice questions wherein each question will be of 3 marks. For admissions in Master’s degree courses (PG), the entrance exam will have 100 multiple choice questions and each question will carry 2 marks.
The candidates are required to score minimum qualifying marks in the entrance exam, based on which the merit list will be prepared. The minimum qualifying marks are 35% for general category candidates, 25% for OBC, 20% for SC and 15% for ST students. The candidates failing to meet the criteria will be rejected.
