CUCET 2017 over on first day, answer key updates

The first day of Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) 2017 is over today (May 17) and the test will also be held tomorrow (May 18). Over 1.3 lakh candidates will be taking this entrance test for admission to courses offered by 10 of the Central Universities across the nation. Reportedly, 15 thousand will be taking the test in Jammu & Kashmir state alone in these 2 days. CUCET 2017 on each day will be held in 3 time slots ( 9 am to 11 am, 12 noon to 2 pm, and 3 pm to 5 pm).

Answer Keys

Surely, the candidates who have taken the test today will be eager to know how they performed? How many answers they got right? Results are on June 7 and that is a long time to wait to know your score. Good news is that the official answer keys of CUCET 2017 will be released on May 19. However, many of the coaching centres or online forums upload the answer keys for the other entrance exams, so here’s hoping they do so for CUCET too. If the answer keys are available by evening or tomorrow, we’ll update here.

The official answer keys releasing on May 19 will be preliminary keys. The final answer keys will be released by the organising Central University, Rajasthan (CURAJ) on May 29. In between the time, candidates will be provided the facility to challenge the preliminary answer key from May 19 to May 22 (5 pm). The final answer keys are issued only after sorting out the objections.

Exam & Marking scheme

The mode of conduct in CUCET 2017 is online. 100 questions are asked in each shift of the exam, consist of two parts. Part A is common for all candidates and has 25 questions, and part B carries 75 questions of students’ domain. 2 hours are given to solve this MCQ based paper. Students apply for admission in mainly 3 of the domain areas; UG/integrated courses, M.Sc B.Ed/PG Diploma Program and MPhil/PhD. Programs, and PG/B.Ed./Integrated courses. The provision of negative marking is also there in the exam, i.e., -1 mark for each wrong answer.

The organising varsity informed that a total of 92 test centres have been set up across 73 cities in the country where 1,30,278 candidates will be appearing for CUCET 2017 over the period of these two days. The exam timings are same for 18 May.
