The result of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2016 will likely be announced in November. The Central Board of Secondary Education had conducted the 10th edition of CTET on September 18, 2016. Both CTET paper 1 and paper 2 exams were held on the same day between 2 pm to 4:30 pm and 9 am to 12:30 pm respectively.
According to the data shared publicly by CBSE, a total of 6.53 lakh candidates had actually appeared for CTET September 2016 out of over 7.5 lakh who had applied.
Even though there is no official consent yet to when the result of CTET September exam will be announced, the board did issue the answer keys and candidates’ OMR sheets on the official website www.ctet.nic.in on October 15. The candidates are allowed to submit their challenges to the answer keys till 19 October midnight.
Considering that it will take CBSE some time to sort out the objections (if there are) and also taking into account the trend that results are usually declared within a month after the preliminary answer keys issuance, it can be expected that CBSE would publish CTET result Sept 2016 by mid-November. Candidates should note that no official date has yet been finalized for the results publication. However, if any good news comes in time, it’ll surely be updated here.
As per government norms, it is compulsory for a candidate to secure at least 60% marks in the CTET. The paper consists of 150 marks and a candidate is required to obtain minimum 90 marks to be termed CTET eligible and be awarded the certificate. Once the candidate gets the certificate, he/she will be considered eligible to be appointed as teacher in classes from I to V and VI to VIII through the recruitment processes, whichever or both he/she has qualified. A candidate can take CTET a number of time to improve his/her percentage if wished.
However, no reservation or quota is given to reserved category candidates in CTET and all need to achieve minimum 60% marks, the same is given by the States, Organizations and government bodies during the recruitment process.
