Aspirants have been preparing for various competitive exams, and the latest report is coming about the clash in two exam dates. CBSE Central Teachers Eligibility Test and IGNOU B.Ed entrance exam have been scheduled for 20 September. There might be many candidates who have applied for both the exams and hence they have landed into major confusion.
CBSE CTET 2015
Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a centralized entrance test for teaching jobs in schools. CTET is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) every year for determining the eligibility to teach class 1 to class 8 in government sponsored schools like Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodyay Vidyalaya, Tibetan Schools etc. This test has been made mandatory by the government of India in order to improve the standards of academia in various schools and most of the States conduct their own tests.
CTET consists of two papers, Paper I which is for class 1 to class 5 and Paper II which is for the class 6 to class 8. Both the question papers contains objective type question containing 150 questions each. The provision of sub section (I) of section 25 of RTE Act laid down that CTET minimum qualification in order to become teacher in junior schools.
IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Exam
Bachelor of Education programme offered by Indira Gandhi National Open University aims in providing guidance in effective teaching and learning process. This course is offered in order to develop understanding and competence required by the teacher. B.Ed course also helps in developing knowledge about child physiology, social management etc. The course is of 2 years in which a candidate develops the complete set of skills to become a teacher. The programme provides s guidance in understanding a child’s behaviour.
In order to apply for B.Ed course in IGNOU, a candidate need to have a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in any of the department such as science, social science, arts, commerce and humanity. IGNOU organises entrance exam to facilitate admissions in B.Ed. course. The notification to apply for the entrance exam has been announced by IGNOU officials through advertisements.
CBSE CTET and IGNOU B.Ed exam dates coincide : What now?
The official announcement has been made by both the authorities regarding the exam date and till now, there is no such relief for aspirants. This however has led many candidates who were to appear in both the examination in confusion. Now the only alternative the candidates are left with is to opt for the best suited exam for them.
