The joint examination of UGC: CSIR NET i.e., JRF NET will be conducted on Dec 18 and the application deadline has been extended till Sept 17th.
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) will conduct National Eligibility Test (NET) on December 18, 2016. CSIR holds a joint CSIR-UGC test for determining the eligibility of the Indian nationals for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) NET and to determine eligibility for appointment of lecturers (NET) in certain subject areas falling under the faculty of Science and Technology.
Earlier, the last date to submit the application was 8th September. But to attract more candidates, CSIR decided to extend the last date. Now, the interested candidates can submit their online application on the official site of CSIR i.e. www.csirhrdg.res.in by 17th September, however, the last date to payment of fees is Sept 16. Candidates can send the hard copy of online application form till 23rd September and for remote areas candidates, it is 30th September.
Eligibility- Candidates with M. Sc degree or in final year waiting for the result are only eligible for Lectureship while for JRF, candidates should have M. Sc or equivalent degree/Integrated BS-MS/BS-4years/B.E/B.Tech/BPharma/MBBS degree with a minimum of 55% for general and OBC category students and 50% for others.

The CSIR NET in 2016 test will be held on two sessions on 18th December, morning (9am – 12 Noon) and afternoon (2pm – 5pm). The test paper will consist of three parts- part A, B and C.
In part A which is common to all subjects, the candidates will be asked questions on general aptitude blended with logical reasoning, analytical and quantitative ability, puzzles, etc. Part B on the other side will be on subject related MCQs and Part C will test on the higher concept of scientific problems. There will be five subjects on which MCQs will be asked – Life Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences.
The admit card of CSIR UGC NET will be available online. The test will be held across 27 cities across India and the result will be declared in March/April 2017.
