CSIR NET 2017 exam has been conducted today in 27 Subjects. Thousands of aspirants take Joint CSIR UGC NET exam as an attempt to secure fellowship as well as to be appointed as a Lecturer. The Human Resource Development Group of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has conducted the exam and will also publish CSIR NET exam answer key. The official answer keys for all the subject papers will be made available on the official website www.csirhrdg.res.in.
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test (CSIR NET) is conducted twice a year for 5 Science Subjects, namely, Chemical Sciences; Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences; Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences. The tests aims to determine the eligibility of candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and to determine the eligibility for appointment of Lecturers in the mentioned Science subject areas under the Faculty of Science and Technology. The online applications for CSIR UGC NET June 2017 were filled from February 8 to March 24.
CSIR NET June 2017 exam has been conducted today in two shifts, first shift (morning shift) from 9 am to 12 noon, followed by the second shift (afternoon shift) from 2 pm to 5 pm. The candidates were allotted a single shift paper and the details of the same were mentioned in the admit cards which were made available last week. The exam for Life Sciences and Physical Sciences subjects was conducted in the morning shift, while the remaining subject papers were conducted in the afternoon shift.
The candidates had to attempt a single paper of 200 marks under CSIR UGC NET exam, which was basically distributed in three sections – A, B & C. The number of questions differed in each subject paper. Section A was common to all the subjects, while Section B & C comprised of subject-related multiple choice questions. The exam was conducted as an offline exam and the candidates were provided with an OMR sheet to mark the answers.
After the conclusion of the exam, the candidates were allowed to carry the question paper and carbonless copy of OMR sheet along with them. Once CSIR NET exam answer key is released, the candidates will have a fair idea to check their answers and analyse their performance in the exam. The publication of official answer key by CSIR is expected to take one month from now, however, some of the unofficial sources including premier coaching institutes are expected to publish the same in a day or two.
CSIR will prepare two merit lists, one for JRF and one for Lectureship. The results will be announced in September or October and the merit lists will be published along with the results.
