The Directorate of Medical Education and Training, Uttar Pradesh has postponed the counselling for BAMS, BUMS and BHMS courses. The Combined Pre-AYUSH Test was conducted for the first time across the state on September 25 to shortlist the eligible students for admission into these courses. The test aims to fill 3,160 seats of BAMS, BUMS and BHMS courses being offered at 49 government and private colleges. Over 16 thousand candidates had registered for the CPAT 2016, however, only 15,162 appeared for the test which was conducted in Varanasi, Lucknow, Kanpur and Bareilly.
The test was organised by Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith and the answer keys of the test were also released by the university after the conclusion of the test.The results of the ayush entrance exam were announced on October 2 and following it, the qualified candidates were waiting for the commencement of CPAT counselling.
The Directorate had earlier scheduled the counselling process to start from 18 October. However, the DMER issued a notice today on 15 October, stating that the first counselling of CPAT 2016 which was slated to start from 18 October has been postponed. It further added that the further information on the counselling process would be informed through official website and newspapers.
As per the official notice, the counselling for admissions to BAMS, BUMS and BHMS would be done through DMER, Uttar Pradesh through video conferencing. The candidates would be invited to participate in the counselling based on their performance in CPAT 2016. The candidates would also have to pay Rs. 5000 as security amount and Rs. 500 as counselling fee to participate in CPAT counselling.
