CISCE has announced that ‪the results of Indian Certificate of Secondary Education‬, and Indian School Certificate Examinations will be announced on May 29, 2017 (Monday). This year, ICSE results and ISC results have been delayed by more than two weeks. Last year, the ISC results were announced on 6th May and while this was sure that the result declaration will take some time this year, multiple rumours have been doing rounds lately. Refuting all such rumours, CISCE had clearly stated that it would issue a notification regarding the declaration of results 2 days in advance. keeping to the statement, the results will be made available by the Council on its official website by May 29.

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) conducts ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) examinations each year. This year, the ISC exams were conducted from March 17 to April 26, following rescheduling due to Assembly Elections in five States. Usually, the exams were conducted in February-March, while the result announcement was done by 20th of May. Earlier, when multiple media reports hinted that the ICSE results would be declared on May 15, CISCE updated that “Forty-eight hours prior to the declaration of ICSE and ISC 2017 exam results, a notification regarding the same will be put up on the Council’s website.”

Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations are conducted by CISCE for 50 subjects; comprising of 15 Indian Languages, 6 Foreign Languages and 3 Classical languages. A total of 74,544 students appeared for ISC exams this year. As the exams concluded on April 26, CISCE started the evaluation work at 485 centralized evaluation centers.

In 2016, the overall passing percentage as per ISC results was recorded at 96.46%. Of 72,069 students who appeared for the exams, 69,521 were declared pass. The region-wise passing percentage was 99.14 for the Southern region, followed by Western Region at 97.59%, Northern Region at 96.36%, while the minimum passing percentage was recorded as 95.90% for Eastern Region. In 2015, the overall passing percentage was 96.28.

Once the ISC results 2017 are announced, the students will have access to the digital versions of mark sheets and certificates which will remain accessible anytime, anywhere.

Kindly note that CISCE has now announced the ISC result 2017 date. The results will be announced on or before May 29, as the admission process in undergraduate courses have already commenced across many institutes/ universities, while some of them are yet to start the process. The delay in ISC results 2017 may also be attributed to the ongoing uncertainty over CBSE 12th results due to the scrapping of moderation policy.
