Staff Selection Commission is going to hold the CHSL 2016 Tier-1 exam as a computer-based test starting 7th January 2017. The exam would continue for a period of 33 days and the official report says a total of 64,09,965 candidates have registered for CHSL 2016 exam. The admit cards were issued by the SSC Regional Offices in the last week of December.
SSC, through an official notice, has issued some strict guidelines to be followed by the candidates during the conduct of the CHSL 2016 exam. The CHSL exam (Tier 1) will be conducted in online mode, earlier it was conducted as OMR based exam. The Commission has published the list of prohibited items at the examination venue. The candidates have been advised not to bring items such as bags, watches, books, pens, paper chits, magazines, electronic gadgets (mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, head phones, pen/ buttonhole cameras, scanner, calculator, storage devices etc) to the exam venue.
The candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination lab along with the prohibited items and if any such item is found in the possession of a candidate in the exam lab, the candidate will be disqualified from the exam. Even the candidate would be debarred from appearing in future examinations of the Commission for a period of three years.
Considering the large pool of candidates aspiring to take CHSL 2016 exam, SSC has scheduled the exam in two shifts for the first three days (7 to 9 January) and in three shifts for the remaining period. The exam was earlier scheduled to end on 5th February, but the Commission has added three more days to cater to all the candidates.
The Staff Selection Commission has also availed two special features for CHSL aspirants – ‘Walk Through’ and ‘Practice Test’. The Walk Through is actually the set of instructions to be followed by the candidates in the form of a video, while the Practice Test allows the candidates to take the computer-based exam before appearing for the actual exam. The Commission said, in the notice, the Walk Through and Practice Test has been uploaded online to familiarize the candidates with the process of computer-based examination for the CHSL Exam 2016. The candidates can access the Practice Test at the SSC Regional Offices’ websites.
