CDS 2018 admit card released by UPSC

UPSC has released the admit card of Combined Defence Services (I) Examination 2018. CDS 1 2018 exam will be held on 4th February.

UPSC CDS 1 2018 exam has been scheduled to be held on February 4 and the Commission has issued the admit cards for all the applicants. The aspirants can access CDS admit card from the official web portal of UPSC. All the applicants are required to download the e-admit card as no admit card will be sent by post. The candidates can download the admit card (use this link) either through Registration ID or Roll No. followed by entering their date of birth and captcha.

The Union Public Commission (UPSC) had announced the CDS 2018 exam date in November and accordingly the applications were invited. As the application process of Combined Defence Services Examination concluded on December 04, the candidates were waiting for the release of admit cards as it is the gate pass to the first part of the selection process – written exam. The written exam would be administered in 41 cities.

For around 413 seats in Defense Academies, over 5 lakh candidates are expected to participate. These seats are in Indian Military Academy, Dehradun; Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala; Air Force Academy, Hyderabad and Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai, and OTA Chennai —23rd SSC Women (Non-Technical) Course for the courses commencing in January 2019.

The UPSC CDS written exam would consist of three papers – English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics. The candidates who have applied for OTA will be required to take only first two papers, while all the other candidates will appear for three papers. Each paper carries 100 marks and the candidates will be given 2 hours for each paper. There will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the objective type Question Papers.

CDS 2018 admit card will remain available till the exam day. If there is any discrepancy in the details mentioned in the e-admit card, the candidates should notify the Commission immediately. Candidates who do not have clear photographs on the e-admit card will have to bring a photo identity proof viz. Aadhar Card, Driving Licence, Passport, Voter ID Card etc. and three passport size photographs, one for each session for appearing in the examination with an undertaking.

The candidates should reach their respective examination venue well in time and get entry into the examination hall 20 minutes prior to the commencement of the exam. The candidates will be judged on the basis of the written exam as the Commission would recommend only selected candidates to the Service Selection Board. The Board would conduct intelligence and personality test for such shortlisted candidates.
