CCMT 2017 notified, Registrations from 10 April

The Centralized Counselling for M.Tech./ M.Arch./ M.Plan. admissions – CCMT 2017 has been notified on April 3. The counselling will be coordinated by Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat (SVNIT Surat) for this year. Last year, the counselling was organized by NITK Surathkal. The Core Committee of CCMT has decided to commence the centralized counselling from April 10. The candidates will also be able to exercise the choice filling from the same day.

The Centralized Counselling for M.Tech./ M.Arch./ M.Plan./ M.Des. (CCMT) was initiated in the year 2012 as a common platform for all the students to apply for these courses based on their GATE scores. The students can participate in CCMT 2017 for seeking admission in all NITs and reputed Centrally Funded Technical Institutions. GATE scores of years 2015, 2016 and 2017 will be valid for admissions this year. Total 40 institutions are participating in CCMT 2017. Check the complete list of institutions here.

As per the official notification, CCMT 2017 will be completed in three rounds. The initial step for all eligible candidates is to register themselves for counselling through the CCMT website (ccmt.nic.in) and the online registration process will commence on April 10. The registration fee is Rs. 2200 for OC/OB and Rs. 1700 for SC/ST/ Pwd candidates. It is to note here that the registration fee is non-refundable and would not be adjusted towards any other fee. The registration and fee payment facility will be closed on May 8, 2017 (11.59 pm)

After successful registration, the candidates will have to fill the choices of institution/ course as per their eligibility & preference and lock the final choices. The candidates must lock the final choices by 11.59 pm of May 11, 2017.

Seat Allotment will be done in three rounds; Round 1 result on May 21; Round 2 result on May 29 and Round 3 result on June 11. The CCMT system will process the locked choices and the seats will be allotted to the candidates on the basis of their choices in the order of merit. If the candidates is allotted the seat of his/her choices, he/she shall accept the allotted seat by depositing the seat acceptance fee and reporting at the Reporting Center.

A National Spot Round (NSR) will also be conducted after three rounds of CCMT. The students will have to fill fresh choices under NSR.

Eligibility to participate in CCMT 2017 counselling :

  • Must have a valid GATE score of the year 2015/ 2016/ 2017.
  • Must have passed and secured at least 6.5 CGPA (60% marks) in qualifying degree courses. The minimum marks for reserved category candidates are 6.0 CGPA or 55%.
