Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the answer key of NET (National Eligibility Test) 2017 that was held on January 22nd.
Candidates can view NET answer keys and their recorded OMR responses details at the www.cbsenet.nic.in May 2 onward. The exam was held on January 22 and since then, the candidates were waiting for the notice of UGC NET answer key of Jan 2017 exam from the Board. Approximately 7.5 lakh candidates appeared for the test in January.
Candidates may visit www.cbsenet.nic.in to check the official answer key for NET examination. CBSE has also uploaded the scanned images of OMR answer sheets of the candidates with their recorded responses & answer keys today. A press note was issued by the Board yesterday, as per which the answer keys and scanned images of OMR sheets were to be uploaded on May 2, today.
After confirmation from UGC that the CBSE will be holding another National Eligibility Test (NET) soon, the candidates who had appeared for the test in January became hopeful. CBSE had not given even a single update after the conduct of the exam in January and there were speculations that the Board will not conduct the examination further. The test is conducted for determining the eligibility for Lectureship as well as for the award of Junior Research Fellowship. Putting an end to the speculations, CBSE released the UGC NET answer key for all subjects today.
Better late than never
CBSE has uploaded the UGC NET answer key. Well, many candidates could not believe this when they opened the official website today. For now, as the answer keys have been made available, the CBSE is also asking for objections from the candidates. Such objections/ challenges will be accepted till May 8 and the candidates will have to submit their challenges online through the link available on the official website (www.cbsenet.nic.in).
The candidates will also have to pay the prescribed fee of Rs. 1,000 per challenge (for recorded response and answer key separately). The fee can be paid through Credit Card/ Debit card after logging into the website. The Board will form an expert panel to review all the objections it will receive during this window and the panel will make its final recommendations. Based on the recommendation, if the challenge is accepted by the UGC NET Board, the required correction will be done and the fee will be refunded.
When to expect the results
While UGC NET Jan 2017 answer key is available now, CBSE is still mum about the results declaration and there has been no notice issued for another test. Now that the CBSE has released the UGC NET answer key, it can be expected that the results will be announced soon as well the fresh notification for another test should be in the to-do list of the Board.
