UGC CBSE NET July 2016: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will announce the result of the University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) examination held in July 2016 in mid-October and most likely on 14th or 15th October.
UGC NET 2016 exam was conducted in July in which over 8 lakh candidates participated. The results are expected to be announced in mid-October as usually, CBSE announces the NET exam results in three months of the exam date. The results would be announced at the official web portal cbsenet.nic.in.
CBSE conducted UGC NET on July 10 at over 1000 examination centres across the country and on July 28 in Srinagar as the exam was postponed due to curfew-like restrictions in the valley. The answer keys of the exam were released by the Board on September 2 and the challenges were invited from the candidates against the answer keys. The facility was closed on September 9 and now the Board would annonce the results of the test along with the final answer keys.
The National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted for determining the eligibility of the candidates for award of Junior Research Fellowship or Assistant Professor jobs in Indian Universities and Colleges. The test is conducted twice a year. From December 2014, UGC shifted the responsibility of conducting the UGC NET exam to the CBSE. Since then, this is the fourth exam coordinated by CBSE. As of now, CBSE has asked UGC to conduct the exam by itself as the Board is overburdened due to its own responsibilities.
Keeping in view the schedule of past three NET exams conducted by CBSE, it is safe to say that CBSE would announce the result of UGC NET July 2016 in the second week of October. We have come to this conclusion as CBSE, in its latest notice issued on September 5, stated that the detailed notification of UGC NET 2017 would released by October 15, 2016. It has been witnessed last time that the result of NET exam was announced on the same day as the notification of the next exam was released.
