CBSE To Conduct 2017’S First UGC NET Exam Early On January 22

There is a good news coming for UGC NET (National Eligibility Test) aspirants from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The UGC NET exam is used to be held twice in a year. Next NET exam is to be held on January 22, 2016. Next year, the exam is to be held early compared to this year which was held on July 10 and August 28 across 88 selected cities of India.

In an official notification on September 8, the CBSE said, “It is notified that CBSE will conduct the next UGC NET for Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant professor on 22nd January 2017 at selected cities across India.”

As per defined by CBSE, the UGC NET exam will consist of three papers. All the questions in three papers will be of objective type. The exam was conducted in 83 subjects last time hopefully, it will remain in the next NET. And in another positive news, Yoga will also be included as NET subject in the examination.

Paper I and Paper II will carry an equal of 100 marks while the number of questions will be different. Paper I will contain 60 questions out of which 50 will be compulsory while paper II will contain all 50 compulsory questions. Both the paper should be attempted in 75 minutes. Paper III will contain 75 questions with a total of 150 marks. The allocated time will be 2 and a half hour.

Qualified candidates will be eligible for assistant professor/lecturer or Junior Research Fellowship. However, candidates who selected for Junior research fellowship would also be appointed as assistant professor. All these selections will solely depend on the performance of the candidates in NET exam.

The process of application will start after a while. Candidates are required to regularly visit the CBSE official site and should start making plans for the preparation.
