CBSE Starts Registrations For March 2016 Improvement Exams

The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced complete schedule for March 2016 improvement examinations. CBSE issued the notification for the students of Class 10 and 12 who are willing to appear as Private Candidate to improve the performance or for an additional subject. The exams are scheduled to be conducted in March next year. As per the notification, candidates who have been placed in the category NIOP (Class 10) and FAIL/COMPARTMENT (Class 12), can register online till October 15, 2015 without late fees. With late fee of upto Rs. 5000, candidates can apply till December 15, 2015.

CBSE offers 5 chances to clear the compartment examination to the students of Class 10 and 12. Firstly, exams are conducted in the month of July-August, then in March-April and the third chance is given again in July-August and so on. The exams would be taken by the students in the month of March/April 2016 in the same manner as they take their board exams.

CBSE Officials quoted that “Fresh Roll Number will be allotted by the board for the candidates appearing in 2016. In no case the candidate will be allowed to appear with the previous year’s Roll No.” The admission letters will be issued in February, prior to the exam timetable.

The applications has to be filled online but it has to be submitted at the concerned regional office. However, the candidates have freedom to pay the application fee either e-challan or by demand draft. Application fee differs from category to category. For the candidates applying from India, it ranges from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 3000 depending on the stream and those candidates who belong particularly to Delhi, it ranges from Rs. 150 to Rs. 400 without late fee. With late fee till October 31, 2015 additional charges are Rs. 250, Rs. 350 till November 15, 2015 and Rs. 5000 till December 15, 2015.

As per the memorandum and one of the official of CBSE, “Fresh female candidate appearing under Delhi scheme will also have to send the affidavit.”

CBSE has offered the students one great option i.e. if in case the candidate has made any mistake in subjects/information entered, they can contact the Regional Office concerned along with the copy of confirmation page and request for correction.

The results for these compartment and improvement exams will be announced in May 2016 and new mark sheets and certificates will be issued to students.

One of the official of CBSE said, “Consolidated mark sheet will be issued to those appearing under COMPARTMENT category and passing the examination.” Candidates are not required to surrender their mark sheets and certificates of previous year examination to the board. The board has availed its helpline through tele service. Students can enquire by calling at 1800-11-8002 between 9.30 am-7.00 pm on all working days.
