The schedule for practical exams of Class 10 & 12 has been made by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The schedule has been forwarded by the Board to its affiliated schools. The practical exams will start from January 16 and the schools will have to upload the marks of students at e-Prac, an Online Practical Marks Uploading System of the Board. The circular dated 8 December has been dispatched by the Board to all the schools.
The practical exams are conducted at the Schools and observed by external examiners. The external examiners are designated by CBSE subject-wise and school-wise. The schools will conduct practicals from January 16 and submit the internal grades to the Board. CBSE has also sent the answer sheets for Class 12 practical exams to the schools. As per the circular, CBSE has instructed the schools to uploaded practical marks of all the students in the online portal by February 25, 2018.
A few years back, CBSE had quashed the board exam scheme for Class 10, however, from the session 2017-18, the board exams will continue for Class 10 students also. The revised assessment scheme mentions that the theory papers of Class 10 will carry 80 marks, out of which the students will have to score minimum 33% marks in each subject. The remaining 20 marks will be for internal assessment. The passing marks for internal assessment are also 33%.
The students can check the practical exam date sheet in their respective schools’ notice-board. CBSE normally gives a particular time frame to the schools for holding practical exams and the schools conduct particular subjects’ practicals as they desire.
In the CBSE Board examination 2017, the exams were postponed by one week due to assembly elections in some States. This year, however, the Board intends to start the board exams from last week of February itself. The date sheet of CBSE board exam is expected to be out in the first week of January.
