The application process for the National Eligibility Test (NET) to be conducted on November 05, 2017, has commenced from today (August 11) and will conclude on September 11, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) notified through it’s official portal for CBSE NET 2017 examination.
The fees for the same can be paid up to 12 September. CBSE will conduct the NET Exam in 84 subjects at selected NET examination centres across 91 cities.
The exam is conducted to determine the eligibility of Indian Nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Assistant Professor, both in Indian Universities and Colleges.
Those candidates who qualify for the Junior Research Fellowship can pursue research in the subjects of their Post graduate and are also eligible for Assistant Professor. Candidate’s performance in all the three exams will decide whether he/she should be considered for the award JRF or eligible for Assistant Professor.
Talking about the Application process, CBSE has made Aadhaar Card compulsory for applying for NET 2017 and not any other document, to ascertain the applicants’ identity, thus making the process much easier and less hectic than before.
All the Aadhar Holders who are applying for the exam shall enter Aadhar Number, name, date of birth, and gender in online application for NET Examination 2017 for identification purposes. Candidates who haven’t enrolled for Aadhaar yet must fill application for Aadhaar enrolment from Aadhar Enrolment center (list available at www.uidai.gov.in).
However, states like Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya are exempted from the above provisions. The candidates from these states should fill the passport number, ration card number, bank account number, and other valid government identity number. These candidates can select the city of examination in these states only.
The e-certificates to the qualified candidates will be provided by UGC-NET Bureau. CBSE’s role is limited to conducting of NET Examination and result declaration, as stated in the website. To know about the complete information about the same, candidates must visit of the official website of CBSE.
