Don’t have an Aadhaar card yet? Sorry, you can’t appear for the JEE main entrance scheduled to be held on April 2, 2017 (Tentative). JEE Main is conducted by the JEE Apex Board for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions. In a major attempt to keep records, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made Aadhaar Card mandatory for aspirants of Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main.
Actually, this is the new eligibility criteria that the aspirants need to fulfill. Any JEE aspirant, who is an Indian citizen, has to give the details of his Adhar card such as their Aadhaar number, name, date of birth and gender, which will be validated with UIDAI’s data when filling up the online form for the exam.
If the details of the students, which he or she has given in the school, vary from his Aadhaar card detail, then also he will not be able to appear in the exam. Therefore, the candidates are advised to ensure that their Aadhaar card has correct details of their name, date of birth and gender as per school records. If there is some mismatch in these details, the candidates should immediately get it corrected in Aadhaar data or school records, as the case may be.
The online application process for JEE Main 2017 will start from December 1, 2016, onwards. The last date for application is January 2, 2017, and the fee can be paid till January 3, 2017.
The government is trying to associate everything with the Aadhaar card which is a commendable effort because people will have a unique number for himself/herself. There is enough time to get one if the student doesn’t have one.
On the other hand, from the next academic session onwards, the fate of the students can only be decided only if they apply via the Aadhaar Card.
