For improving the performance of students, CBSE is conducting Improvement of Performance (IOP) exam for students of class 10 and compartment examination for class 12 students from 16 July to 27 July 2015. As much as 97,404 students of Class 12 and 41,812 students of Class 10 would be appearing for the exams.
Compartment exams are mostly conducted for those students who have secured low marks in the 10th, 12th board examinations. Also students who had failed in the main board exams of 10th and 12th, appear for compartment exam for Class 12th and IPO exam for 10th class. For 12th class students, marks scored by students play very crucial role for them in getting admission to various professional colleges and other arts & science colleges. In case of 10th class students, marks help in deciding the subjects to be taken after 10th class.
Students were required to fill the forms on official website of Board and the receipt of compartment or IPO form need to be submitted by 22 June. For regular student, an amount of Rs. 200 per additional or compartment subject need to be paid by students in the form of demand draft drawn in favour of ”Secretary CBSE”, payable at regional office. For private students the amount was Rs 250.
On 6 August, result of Class 12 compartment exam would be announced and on 13 August, results for class 10 IPO exam would be declared.
